2) You ask for a CROUS studio during your application to Sciences Po. In Le Havre, there are three résidences (apartment-style dormitories) that are very close to the class buildings. If you are not French, you are almost sure to get a studio through this procedure, and we advise that you try a CROUS residence before moving onto your own apartment. All rooms are fully furnished with a bed, tables, chairs, bookshelves, and general kitchen appliances. The administration will inform you about the actual prices when you consult them about this option.
- Labédoyère:
Labedoyere is a student residence with 30 sq m studios. It used to be a residence for the elderly, so its rooms are not only very spacious, but also come with a private kitchen and bathroom. - Bougainville:
Bougainville is a student residence with rooms of different sizes (8 sq m, 10 sq m, 15 sq m). You will have a room with your own sink (which can be used to wash hands, brush teeth, etc), but you have to share a kitchen, shower, and toilet with 1 to 5 (or even more) people. - Delavigne:
Delavigne is a student residence with 30 sq m studios. Each comes with a private kitchen, as well as a bathroom and sometimes even a balcony. - Conteneurs
You can also check out their website for more information. They also have a blackboard with private offers that you might want to check out:

** CAF (Caisse d’Alocation Familiale)
France is very special in that it offers every student with rights to benefit from a program called CAF. It is a monthly payment rebate system, through which you will receive some fee from the government to subsidize your housing. On average, this rebate will be around 100~200 euros per month, depending on your apartment and your family’s financial conditions (but you don’t need to worry about this at this point).
Once you arrive in Le Havre, you should fill out some documents and hand them to the CAF representative. Even if you are a bit lazy and hand in all the papers in January, for instance, you will still receive rebates for the full payments you have given during the previous months.
This did answer many questions! Thankyou!
It helped to make a proper choice
Are the CROUS studios students-only?
Do you have more info about the student crous residences? Like which are the better/more popular?
